Richmond Field Station (RFS) Graduate Studios

The Richmond Field Station (formerly The UC and Richmond Global Campus) provides almost 10,000 square feet of studio space in a beautiful San Francisco Bay-side location. Four buildings house graduate studios that are available for 24-hour use. Individual studio sizes range from 180 square feet up to 450 square feet. The RFS graduate studios share a kitchen, meeting room, indoor and outdoor open work space, wireless internet access, a basic woodshop and slop sinks, ADA-accessible studios, and flexible exhibition space. The resources are administered by a studio manager.
Public transportation systems do not provide service to the site at this time. Students need to have their own transportation to have adequate access to the studios. Ample parking is available, and a beautiful Bay Trail connects the Richmond Field Station to Berkeley via bicycle.
A UC Berkeley library annex is on-site, which provides basic self-serve scanning, printing, and book deposit/checkout services.
Please note: we do not give tours of the MFA studios, but most years in March, we offer an Open Studios day. See Events for details.
Graduate Studio Forms
All RFS and Campus studio artists must follow campus rules for health and safety. Living in the studio is not permitted under any circumstances. Small communal kitchen facilities, restrooms, showers, and many other facilities are provided at RFS.
