Welcome new faculty NIC Kay

We enthusiastically welcome the internationally acclaimed performance artist NIC Kay to the Department of Art Practice as the Adjunct Assistant Professor for Performance Art. NIC Kay is an interdisciplinary artist, performer, and conceptual choreographer who works with movement to explore relationality and yearning. Their creative work includes performance, video and photography as well as artist books. Art 160: It’s giving Performance is their inaugural course. From Jan 17, 2023 to March 4, 2023, The Wattis Institute in San Francisco is showing their work as part of the groundbreaking show Drum Listens to Heart, and on Feb 9, 2023 at noon NIC will give a public lecture at BAMPFA on Video Across the Arts: Performance and the Moving Image.
