50th Annual MFA Exhibition
Featuring: Brian Bartz, Xandra Ibarra, Leena Joshi, Brontez Purnell, Ghazal Rahimi and Jessica Robbins, from May 14 β June 20, 2021
BAMPFA celebrates their re-opening by showcasing the exceptional work of the UC Berkeley Art Practice Department 2020 MFA Graduates.
Since 1970, BAMPFA has graciously curated the Art Practice MFA Thesis show. The 50th anniversary of this most important part of the MFA program was scheduled for Spring of 2020, but due to COVID, we had to reschedule the exhibit to⦠NOW! In interesting ways, the thesis work has matured over this year, some gaining visibility in other ways, some deepening their meaning in the context of COVID as well as BLM and AAPI solidarity.
In lieu of an opening, please reserve timed entry tickets on Friday, May 14, the first day of the show. All artists will be present and can be reached for interviews via artdept@berkeley.edu.
