Seven New M.F.A. Students
Despite the upheaval of COVID, Art Practice recruited and admitted a phenonmenal Class of 2023 to their M.F.A. Program. The new students include, in alphabetical order:
Irma Barbosa, a photographer based in Los Angeles, CA
Gericault De La Rose, an installation and performance artist from Chicago, IL
Eniola Fakile, a photographer from Atlanta, GA
Juniper Harrower, a painter from Oakland, CA
Fei Pan, a new media artist from China and Singapore
Tiare Ribeaux, a new media artist from Hawai’i via Oakland
Samuel Wildman, a social practice artist from Portland, OR
We are thrilled to welcome these artists, who represent very diverse perspectives on what it means to be human, and who come from many different places to work and study in California. What they all have in common are art practices rooted in creative research. UC Berkeley will provide them with an ideal context to pursue their creative research in fields ranging from biology to geology, from gender studies to African American history, and in fields which barely have any names yet.
We congratulate the Class of 2023 and thank all those who support their studies with donations, work, and care.
