Since 1970, BAMPFA graciously curated the Art Practice MFA Thesis show. The 50th anniversary of this most important part of the MFA program was scheduled for Spring of 2020, but due to COVID, we had to reschedule the exhibit to… NOW! In interesting ways, the thesis works matured over this year, some gaining visibility in other ways, some deepening their meaning in the context of COVID as well as BLM and AAPI solidarity. In lieu of an opening, please take advantage of timed entry on the first day of the show. All artists are present and can be reached for interviews via artdept@berkeley.edu.
BAMPFA celebrates their re-opening by showcasing the exceptional work of Brian Bartz, Xandra Ibarra, Leena Joshi, Brontez Purnell, Ghazal Rahimi and Jessica Robbins.
