The Draw and Bass Duets are a series of collaborative multimedia performance pieces by interdisciplinary artist and alumni Trevor Tubelle and musician Richard Worn. Using a combination of double bass sounds and vocalizations by Worn and gestural drawing marks, sounds, and body movements by Tubelle, the artists reverberate within various thematic structures (Quotidian Rhythms, Tension & Ease, etc.) while weaving improvisational riffs and unexpected antiphonal fusions in close proximity on a resonant, drum-like platform before a live audience.

Trevor Tubelle is a San Francisco-based interdisciplinary artist working with hybrid forms of drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media and performance. He received his BA from Berkeley in 1996. He has gone on to regularly teach at Stanford University (Continuing Studies Program) and has taught at Stanford Arts Institute (Honors in the Arts Program) and UC Santa Cruz, among others, and his work is included in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

Richard Worn, bassist, hails from Los Gatos and has been in contact with the double bass for forty-four years. He is Principal Bass with the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, the San Jose Chamber Orchestra, UC Berkeley's Eco Ensemble, and Assistant Principal Bass with the Marin Symphony and adjunct faculty at the UC Berkeley music department since 2001.

Platform Artspace is accessible at the gated entrance next to the bike racks on the south side of Wurster Hall. Additionally, during events, the door to Wurster Hall room 178 is open and accessible from the interior of the building.
